Announcements for the week of Sept. 29th, 2013

This Thursday (Today) we will be having our Monthly Bible Study.  We'll be meeting for dinner at 5:30.  We are having BBQ sandwiches.  If you are coming, please bring a side, salad, or dessert if you can.  Our Bible Study will follow dinner, and we'll get into chapter four of the Max Lucado 3:16 series.  Also please note, our Childcare for tonight is cancelled because our volunteer is sick.  

On Sunday the 29th, we'll have Sunday School as usual, then at 9:45 we'll have a short communion service before heading up to Clearmont for the Community Church Service hosted by the Clearmont Christian Church at the Clearmont Park.  Please bring your Lawn Chairs to sit in.  There will be a carry in dinner after the service, so if you are staying for the dinner please bring a dish of some kind.  Our Church will be providing plates, forks, napkins, and cups for our attendees, but if you want to bring your own feel free to since the hosts are not providing it.

Our Monthly Board Meeting will be Sunday, October 6th after  Church, and our Leadership Team Meeting will be the next day, October 7th at 6:30.  

There has been some talk of starting a regular children's bible program.  If you are interested in volunteering please contact the pastor or the Chairman of the Board.  

Announcements for 09/15/2013

This Sunday we will begin our sermon series on Colossians.  We'll take a look at why this letter was written, and why we should care what Paul has to say.

In upcoming events, we will be having a Cleanup Day on Wednesday September 18th at 6:30.  Please come to the Church and help us clean up the Highway that we sponsor.  Other kinds of work may be available around the church as well.

Also, we will be having our first Ladies Small Group Study based on the "Jesus, one and only" by Beth Moore.  Linda Surmeier will be leading the small group.  The first meeting will be on Saturday, September 21, at 1:00pm at the Church.  Please Contact Laura Evans if you need help with Childcare during the Study.  If you would like to be a part of this Bible Study, please contact Linda or the Pastor ASAP so we can order the Books that go with the study.  The cost of the books is yet to be determined, but scholarships will be available for those who need help paying for them.  Stay tuned for future announcements about the Bible Study.

Our Men's Breakfast will be September 21 at 7:00AM, and Mark Surmeier will be speaking.  We will meet for our Open Bible Study on Max Lucado's 3:16 Video Series on Thursday September 26th at 5:30.

On Sept 29th, we will be joining a Community Church Service at the Community Park in Clearmont.  The service begins at 10:30, and we will have communion at the Church before heading up.  

Announcements for Sept. 8th, 2013

In the last three weeks we've been talking about Faithfulness.  This week we'll explore the question, "Why are some people faithless?"  What causes people to be faithless to God, and what are the consequences of Faithlessness?  We'll be wrapping up the Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25.

In a few weeks we will begin a new Sermon Series on the Book of Colossians.  We'll be taking a look at it through the eyes of the family of Philemon, Apphia, and their son Archippus; one of the families that helped lead the Church in Colossae during the time that Paul wrote this letter to them.
