This coming Sunday we will be having a special guest speaker.  Sandi Mull will be coming to talk about her recent trip to the Holy Land!

Upcoming Events;

On June 9th we will be celebrating Father's Day with a Worship Service themed around the Great Outdoors.    All the guys can feel free to wear their favorite hunting gear, fishing gear, or sporting gear!  We will also have a special photo presentation of the fathers and husbands of our church doing manly or fatherly things, so ladies, please email your photos to jchristy3@live.com by this Thursday (May 30) if you want them to be a part of the presentation.

The following week will be Town and Country Days, and we are going to try and get a float going.  There will be a meeting the week before to plan the float for the parade, the day and time will be announced in the future.

This year's Vacation Bible School will be June 30 - July 3, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.  There will be one last meeting for the volunteers on Sunday, June 23rd shortly after Church, and then on June 30 after church we will be decorating the church in preparation for VBS.  Our Theme this year will be Paul's Missionary Trip to Athens, Greece.

Updates for May 19th, 2013

This week the name of the Message will be "Wrestling with God; the continual struggle for spiritual growth in our faith."  We will be studying the passage out of Genesis 32, where Jacob wrestles with God.

This Saturday, May 18th is the Men's Breakfast at 7am, we will be having pancakes and bacon.  On Sunday May 19th, we will be having our Re-Dedication of Faith Service.

In other news, our VBS material is in, and we will be having another VBS planning meeting Saturday May 25th at 6:00 here at the First Christian Church.  VBS will be June 30 - July 3 this year.

On a special note to all the wives in the church, if you could send the pastor a few pictures of your husband doing manly stuff with his kids, that would be great.  We are going to have a special photo presentation in Honor of Father's Day.  We will have special signup sheet, but ladies, please get your pictures in by May 26th.  Due to Town and Country days, we will be having our special Father's Day Great Outdoors service on the 9th instead of the 16th.  All the guys can wear their hunting, fishing, or sporting gear if they want.

We are also interested in seeing what we can do about putting out a float for the T&C Parade.  There will be another signup sheet if anyone is interested in working on that.  It should be a really neat experience and a great way to bring a little fun back to the community!

May God bless you and keep you all this week,

Pastor Josh.
